Ironmen defend Maritime Championship Title against Dal!
The Ironmen defeated Dal to defend the Maritime University Men’s Rugby Championship! The match was hard fought and both teams played exceptionally well. The Ironmen however, came out ahead at the final whistle 26 – 24!
Ironmen claim provincial title against UPEI!
The Ironmen fought a hard battle against UPEI for the NB/PEI Provincial Championship. Both squads played physical, and it looked as though UPEI may overthrow the Ironmen in a tough match. The Ironmen however, were able to come back in the second half after being down 12 – 7, to claim victory at the final whistle 24 – 12.
Ironmen defeat STU in final regular season game!
The Ironmen put their talents on display this weekend against STU in the final game of the season. The Ironmen opened on the first play of the game and didn’t let up. STU picked up there game, and punched in a try, however the Ironmen came together and put together a great display. the final score had the Ironmen on top 99 – 5.
Ironmen defeat Mount Allison in convincing style!
The Ironmen came out hard against Mount Allison and did not let up all game. The Ironmen opened the scoring on the first kick of the game. The Ironmen kept up the pressure, and had almost fifty points by half-time. Both forwards and backs played excellent, and the score reflected the effort. The final score saw the Ironmen on top 92 – 7.
Ironmen do it again in PEI!
The Ironmen posted a strong showing against UPEI on their home field. In sloppy conditions both teams took the field for what would prove to be a physical battle. The first half saw both teams handle the ball equally, but the Ironmen came out with a 14 point lead. The second half was all Ironmen, whether in the scrum or open field play, the score steadily rose. The Ironmen prevented UPEI from touching down in the tri-zone, however a penalty kick prevented the shutout. The final score saw the Ironmen 52 – UPEI 3.
Ironmen defeat St. Thomas to take the Battle of The Hill!
The Ironmen put on a great display of ball movement and scoring ability on Sunday against St. Thomas. The Ironmen came out hard and kept the pressure on hard the whole game. Forwards and backs a like took the ball on some great runs, which resulted in a final score of 64 – 0 for the Ironmen!
The Ironmen beat out Mount Allison in Sackville!
The Ironmen pulled out yet another victory from their travel to Sackville were they were hosted by Mount Allison University. The game was played under the lights, in less than favorable weather. The final score saw the Ironmen with 55 points to Mount Allison’s 7.

Home Opener against UPEI a Success!
The Ironmen opened the 2011 season right where they left off after last year’s Championship Game. The Ironmen came out strong against a tough and physical UPEI squad. Possession and territory swayed between both teams, seeing the Ironmen strike first. The remainder of the game saw both teams control the ball equally. Yet while the forwards battled it out in tough rucks, the backfield went to work with the ball, breaking the line clean with some great runs. The final score saw the Ironmen 55 – UPEI 10!
